New Rig Quay at Westcon

New Rig Quay increases capacity

Westcon now has a third rig quay west of the two existing quays.  The new quay is 20 metres deep at quayside, 31 metres wide and 41 metres long, which will give a good capacity not only for rigs but for ships too.   Although Westcon is still fitting out the quay it can be used now.  This extension will increase capacity and flexibility when there are several projects simultaneously.

 The area behind the quay has also been purchased and shall be blasted down to the same level as the existing quay to provide an additional storage area, and allow for effective logistics.  Completion of the area at the back of the quay is planned for October, which will give Westcon good facilities along the entire length of the quays.
