The technical division
More than thirty dedicated engineers are working in the technical division at Westcon. -We make sure that pre production work tasks are well prepared, as well as following the project through to finalization, the Operation Manager Arne Matre, says.
- Our activities are centered around offering support to the production units at the yard and our offshore teams. We do this in order to secure that you, as our customer, will prefer Westcon as your favourite yard. Our design teams put together solutions for our rig and ship customers, and we handle an ever increasing specter of tasks inhouse, Matre adds.
- We design steel structures in accordance with relevant regulations, using different tools: 2D (AutoCAD), and 3D (Autodesk Inventor) modeling, FEA/strength calculations using Inventor Simulation Suite or STAAD.Pro. We do deluge and sprinkler design using FHC. And we use traditional hand calculations and spread sheats for various purposes.
